Note: All the horses listed for sale are experienced trail savvy horses that were never at a sale barn or an auction. You are welcome to talk to anyone I've purchased a horse from. I pride myself on providing "willing trail partners". These horses came from trusted friends that I've had years of experience buying horses from in Tennessee.
They are calm and NOT looking to "try you out" on the trail - they also gait EASILY and SMOOTHLY. I stake my reputation on this.
I'm trying to keep the sold page current but I am behind!!! I do want to ackowledge my gratitude to the wonderful people who have come into my life and my home and purchased horses from me. THANK YOU!
I am able to put moving clips easily on the youtube site so sometimes it lists the newest arrivals first.
Call Melissa and talk to her about "just the right horse" for you. If I don't have it here, (and I've got over 15 horses for sale here!), then I might know of one in Tennessee that I have'nt been able to bring up yet. Talk to me about pricing too. I want to find a horse a home for life AND sell a horse. I do what it takes to make a deal.
You won't regret buying a horse from Bailey's Walking-After-Midnight Farm. Each sale is a custom experience designed by you. We give you a trial period at your new farm, riding lessons here on your new horse, a guarantee of the health and soundness of your new horse, (and we comply with getting the horse into a boarding facillity too). We give a new bit and bridle to each horse, can assist delivering your new horse, invite you to stay in our home (must like dogs and cats) to spend a few days working with our horse savvy staff to ride various horses in different scenarios so that you can make your decision with confidence. I can't change the world, but I can give you a great experience buying a horse. We like to think we are "accountable" to you and our horse, long after the sale. |

Stormy is novice rider approved

We raised Stormy. He has the best "markings" of any colt we've ever raised.
 |
BlackWidow's Stormy Delight
Foaled: 2006
Breed: TWHBEA
Gender: Gelding
Height: 14.3h
Color: Black and White Tobiano
Sale Price: $6,000
This is our boy Stormy. He was the flashiest marked colt we've ever raised and now he is broke out with a quiet easy going disposition (just like his Daddy), and we are PROUD.
He is easy going, is not lookey on the trail, is relaxed under saddle and is happy to walk, but just ask and he gaits along effortlessly and smoothly.
We are able to put novice riders on him with no apprehension. He has always been handled and socialized so there is nothing this boy will do except give you a hard time.
He's easy to catch, has excellant ground manners, cross ties, leads loads and clips, handles traffic and water with no hesitation.
Take Stormy for a trail ride all by himself, or with a group of horses. He's ready to go and loves the attention.
Call Melissa at (540)303-0569 or email Melissa@Walking-After-Midnight.com to ask more about him or to request digital photos and moving photos of him under saddle.

|
Jose's Classic Pusher (Jose)
Foaled: 2006

Jose has talent, a great head on his shoulders, motivation and will do what ever you ask with out hesitation or arguement. Oh, did I mention
S M O O T H!!!!! This is a GREAT TRAIL HORSE.
Ride him anywhere- by yourself or with a group of horses. He is gentle, ridden by experienced riders that gave him a very solid foundation for trail riding. The group of horses can leave him and he will listen to you and not melt down.
He's easy to catch, has excellant ground manners, cross ties, leads loads and clips, handles traffic and water is second nature to him. He also neck reins.
We are proud to offer him for sale. This is Melissa's favorite ride on the farm. He has got that special "umph" under saddle that is hard to define, but you know Walking Horse Royalaty flows through his veins.
He'd be a great endurance horse prospect but he's happy to go for a nice "walk through the park" too.
Call Melissa at (540)303-0569 or email Melissa@Walking-After-Midnight.com to ask more about him or to request digital photos and moving photos of him under saddle.

We were invited by the Golden Horse Shoes 4H Club to demo gaited horses at the Clark Co.Fair this Aug. We took Jose, Queenie and Kate (who was then purchased by our new wonderful friends Connie and MaryAnn - but that sale was sealed 2 days later when we went to the C&O Canal and rode Dolly the black and white, Foxy and Kate through gun fire, (I am not making this up!), bicycles, the train, and riding under a highway bridge. We go to any lengths to give you a chance to try the horses out in various scenarios so that you can make a decision with confidence. |

Thomas takes Chance to his paddock, in the rain with an umbrella. Chance didn't even snort at the umbrella. |
Free Chance
Foaled: March 17, 2001
Breed: SHRI & IPWHR
Gender: Gelding
Height: 15.1h plus
Color: Sorrel
Sale Price: $5,500.00
Here is your "Chance" for a confidant, top shelf trail horse that can be ridden alone and with a grouop.
The size of this horse is impressive. He is taller than 15.1h but he feels like a BIG horse when you ride him. He has gorgeous confirmation and he's stocky built - he can carry a big person effortlessly.
He loves trail riding. He is not spookey and looks forward to going out and meandering through woods, creeks, country roads. He is not bothered that you are riding him away from his buddies back at the barn. He doesn't care about traffic, and his effortless and SMOOTH saddle gait means you can ride him for hours in comfort. (For anyone with sore back issues, this is the ride you are looking for! )
We are so confidant in the saneness of Chance that we rent him out for our custom trail rides ($45 an hour) and lot's of those riders are not experienced riders.
We'll miss him when we sell him, but we've got too many horses here so we hope you'll give us a call. :)
This is WHY you want a walking horse. Walking horses are known for their excellent attitude, smooth gaits, and puppy dog personality. Here it is, pleasure riding.
Call Melissa at (540)303-0569 or email Melissa@walking-after-midnight.com to ask more about him or to request digital photos and moving photos of him under saddle. |

Maverick
Foaled: 2001
Breed: Tennessee Walking Horse
Gender: Gelding
Height: 14.3h
Color: Black
Sale Price: $5,000
Maverick is a gentle gelding that we can trust to put anyone on for our "custom trail rides". He goes wherever you point him, has an excellent attitude, a natural, effortless gait that could make him a contender for "The world's Smoothest riding horse". For a horse to be for sale at this farm the gait has GOT to be GOOD, but Maverick takes it to a new level.... ). He is also very sure footed on any terrain.
Maverick is a stocky made horse and although he is 14.3h - he is strong and can carry a larger rider with no problem. Or carry a smaller rider that doesn't want to crawl up on a 16h horse. He has a big heart and doesn't see the boogey bear behind trees. He listens well under saddle too and I don't think he has a mean bone in his body.
Left - photo of Maverick when we rented him to The Greater Washington Dalmatian Club Road Trial. It was held at the Inn at Kellys Ford - Remington, VA. Here is " exhibitor" Sara Pryune and her dog Ch. Patch Mtn C Pepper N Paisley, RD, TDX, RE, NA, NAJ, NF. They were also the Competitor Traveling the Farthest Distance (Maine). Carina earned her RD title by going 12.5 miles in addition to the obedience exercises.
More information on the Road Trials can be found at www.thedca.org
Mavierick was a big success!!! Everyone LOVED him.
He was raised by a family in middle Tennessee. Broke out by a teenage girl, ridden and loved. Now we have him and we've promised to find him an extraordinary home.
Call Melissa at (540)303-0569 or email blackwidowfarm@starband.net to ask more about him or to request digital photos and moving photos of him under saddle.

This is Saint's Daddy, Andy and Melissa (photo taken by Linda Parker
http://lindaparker.zenfolio.com/ )
Andy is one of the world's largest Tennessee Walking Horse stallions, we think he IS the worlds largest Spotted Saddle Horse Stallion. (He is double registered). We know his is the gentlest stallion - ever. Anyone can go in the paddock with him and pet him.
|
Walking After Saint (Saint)
Foaled: July 28, 2008
Breed: SSHBEA
Gender: Stallion (Homozygous)
Height: should mature to 16.3h plus?
Color: Tri Color Tobiano
Sale Price: Let's talk
This is our 19 mos old stud colt, already standing at 15.2h, named Saint. He is out of our homozygous mare Queenie, and out of Andy, one of the worlds largest TWHBEA and SSHBEA stallions. Saint should grow as big as him - but I don't want to pressume to know God's plan here, so let's just say - he is going to be REALLY BIG and GENTLE.
He has 2 blue eyes, this makes him mesmerizing, and in the case of all of this colt's siblings, they have been kid broke when they were 2 and a half years old.
Saint's daddy, Andy, is not for sale but standing at Stud here at our farm. Saint is top quality Spotted Saddle horse with a natural effortless and smooth gait, and has been handled extensively since he was born.
He's easy to catch and work around. He is not full of himself, but he is a stud colt and a darn big one at that. He loves people and is easy to catch. We have him turned out with geldings in a paddock so he is socialized with horses. The girls don't have his attention yet. He could be gelded - but he is Homozygous, this means he's guaranteed to throw spots. Do we want to castrate what could potentially be the biggest, sweetest, smoothest Spotted Saddle Horse Stud? I'll wait and see what kind of interest comes from this advertisement....
I have lot's of people inquiring about Andy, (Saint's Sire), some to purchase and some to breed to.
Andy is 16 yrs old now and he doesn't ever need to go to another home, he is here to stay, and I don't ship semen, - so here is another option - Saint. He could be castrated too, and I don't need 2 stallions on this farm, (besides Charlie Bailey :) so I am testing the waters so to speak to see what options the universe has for Saint. I'll be starting him under saddle in the spring.
Please call me if you'd like to discuss Saint. (540)303-0569 or email melissa@walking-after-midnight.com.
